# Creating Your First Inspection

Welcome to BN Reports! This guide will walk you through creating your first inspection from start to finish.

Getting Started

To create a new inspection:

  1. Navigate to Dashboard - Click on the "Dashboard" link in the main navigation
  2. Click "New Inspection" - Look for the prominent button in the top right
  3. Fill in Property Details - Enter the property address, client information, and inspection date

Property Information

Make sure to include:

  • Full street address with city, state, and ZIP code
  • Client name and contact information
  • Scheduled inspection date and time
  • Property type (Single Family, Condo, Multi-Family, etc.)

Adding Findings

Once your inspection is created:

  1. Click on any room or area to start documenting findings
  2. Use the Add Photo button to capture images on-site
  3. Add descriptions and severity ratings for each finding
  4. Use Voice-to-Text for hands-free documentation

Using Templates

Speed up your inspections with templates:

  • Select from pre-built templates for common property types
  • Customize templates to match your inspection style
  • Save your own templates for future use

Completing the Inspection

Before finalizing:

  • Review all findings for accuracy
  • Ensure all photos are properly attached
  • Add any summary notes or recommendations
  • Click "Complete Inspection" to finalize

Next Steps

Once complete, you can:

  • Generate a professional PDF report
  • Share with clients via the client portal
  • Schedule follow-up inspections if needed
